Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, the Anambra-State born renowned writer, has lost her mother, Grace Ifeoma (nee Odigwe).
The 78 year old woman died yesterday, March 1 in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
Her death came barely nine months after that of her husband, a renowned Professor of Statistics, James, who died in June 2020 aged 88.
Mrs. Adichie is survived by six children: Ijeoma, Uchenna, Chuks, Okechukwu, Chimamanda and Kenechukwu as well as nine grandchildren, in-laws and many relatives.
The family said funeral arrangements will be announced soon.
