Jigawa Government Spends N2b On Payment of Pension And Gratuities To Retirees – Pension Boss

Jigawa state government through its State and Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme Board has stated with the payment of over N2b in settlement  of pension and gratuities to different cadre of the state’s retired civil servants across the state from January to date this year, government is not owing a single kobo pension dues to its retired civil servants, the Executive Secretary of the board, Hon. Hashim Ahmad Fagam has disclosed.
This covers the period of January to May this year’s payment including the previous months which stood at  N1.4b in addition to March to May this year’s payment of N666,737,055.64k to three twenty one beneficiaries.
Giving the breakdown, the state retired civil servants stood at eighty people whom were paid N183,951,027.21k, while fifty three retired staffs of the Local Government Councils, were paid N53,477,541.09k, and 188 retired staffs of LEA collected the sum of N431,308,487.34 as their benefits.
Other payments include death benefit to 13 people at the state level where they were paid N36,390,802.89k, while LGA has 14 people and have received N14,896,730.00k as benefit, while 15 people from the LEA received N32,186,059.00k as their benefits.
Hon. Fagam stated with these payments, we owed no any pensioners in the state any outstanding arrears. He attributed the success of the board on the state government positive support and cooperation at all times on its activities in its persuit to ease the payment of pension dues to ensure maximum comfort to our pensioners.
He assured the state’s retiree’s of efficient services in the discharged of the board’s operation at all times so as to ease the payment procedures of pension dues as at when due to all categories of the state’s retired civil servant’s on any matters concerning pensioners.
Similarly he warn pensioners, and retiree’s to be wary of middle men who will cheat them in the process of their documentation as saying we don’t engage the additional services of an outsider in our operation’s. All our transaction’s are done by our satisfied staffs who are competent enough to handle all matters related to pensioners, no more no less.
