The Bishop of Kwara State Anglican Communion, RT. Rev. Sunday Adewole has charged people in positions of authority to function in office with the fear of God.
Preaching on the Christmas day at St. Bernabas Anglican Cathedral in Ilorin, Bishop Adewole said those in positions, particularly holding public offices must learn to use such positions to affect the life of the citizens positively.
The Cleric said; “whatever position you found yourself today is temporary, use the position to affect life positively your word of encouragement can make a man who want to commit suicide have a rethink.”
Not only that Rev. Adewole said the actions by way of performance of public officers which had positively touched the people will not only count for them but only before God Almighty.
The Bishop who spoke on ‘Nativity of Christ’ stressed the need for people to settle their diffferences with each other.
“We should forgive one another, reconcile with people , resolve grievances with your friends, men forgive your wife, wife forgive your husband and husbands, forgive your wives” he said.
He also stressed the need for Christians to exercise self restraints, self examination and above all. prepare to meet the Lord Jesus Christ.
They should also serve God diligently , and love their neighbours saying; “examine your life if you are still in faith, make amend in your ways and if you know your ways are not Godl, make amends, if you are not serving God determine to serve Him”, he said.
