76-Year Old Arrested For Attempting To Shoot His Son

A septuagenarian, Zubair Audu, has been arrested by the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for attempting to shoot and kill his son, Issa, with a locally made gun.

The Corps Public Relations Officer who disclosed this to newsmen in Ilorin, the capital said the unfortunate incident occurred at Alagbado Area 5, Mountain Avenue in the State capital.

According to him, “on Wednesday June 23, 2021, at about 2 pm, NSCDC  Divisional Office at Pake Area received a distress call that one 76 year old man was chasing his son with a locally made rifle.

“Further investigation has revealed that there has been no love lost between the father and the son which might have snowballed into that life- threatening incident.”

He said that the old man and his rifle were in the custody of the NSCDC while serious man-hunt has begun for the son who is still at large.

The State Commandant, Mr. Iskil Makinde, has been briefed of the incident who has ordered for full scale investigations in order to take further actions.
