$65m fraud: Buhari’s son-in-law, ex-FMBN CEO, Kumo, two others declared wanted

President Muhammadu Buhari’s son-in-law and former Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), Gimba Ya’u Kumo, and two others have been declared wanted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over an alleged $65 million fraud.

 

ICPC spokesperson, Mrs Azuka Ogugua, SAID On the wanted list of the anti-graft commission, along with Kumo are Tarry Rufus and Bola Ogunsola.

It would be recalled that, in April 2021, the Senate Committee on Public Accounts had summoned Kumo over alleged irregular awards of N3 billion contracts while he led the federal mortgage bank as the Managing Director/CEO.

 

Gimba Kumo had married President Buhari’s daughter, Fatima Buhari,  at Daura, Katsina State with great pomp and pageantry, in 2016.

Said Ogugua: “The persons whose pictures appear above, Mr. Tarry Rufus, Mr. Gimba Ya’u Kumo and Mr. Bola Ogunsola, are hereby declared wanted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in connection with issues  bordering on misappropriation of National Housing Funds and diversion of the sum of Sixty Five Million dollars ($65,000,000).
