The three major presidential candidates in the forthcoming 2023 general elections, Bola Tinubu of APC, Atiku Abubakar of PDP and Peter Obi of LP, have consoled popular musician, David Adeleke, aka Davido, over the death of his three-year-old son, Ifeanyi Davido Jnr.
Recall that the singer’s son, Ifeanyi Davido Jnr., a fruit of the union between the singer and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, was reportedly drowned in his father’s swimming pool at their uptown residence of Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Monday night, October 31, while his parents were purportedly away to Ibadan for a family engagement.

Commiserating with Davido and Chioma over the tragedy, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, said; “Oluremi and I send our heartfelt and deepest condolences to David, Chioma, and the entire Adeleke family over the tragic loss of their son, Ifeanyi.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. May the Lord grant them the fortitude and strength to deal with this painful tragedy.”
The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi said; “I send my sincere condolences to Davido and Chioma, over the death of their son, Ifeanyi. I cannot begin to imagine the pains they are going through at the moment.
“May God grant them healing, strength and comfort in this trying time. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.”
On his own, the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, said his thoughts and prayers are with Davido and Chioma and the Adeleke family at this painful moment, praying God to strengthen and comfort them.

This even as the former governor of Abia State and Senate Chief Whip, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, has cancelled all his official engagements in commiseration of the tragic death.
The frontline politicians are not alone on this. Top celebrities are also pouring out their hearts.
Comedia Ayo Makun (AY) posted on his Instagram handle saying he has been hit by the news.
“The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic, this hit me so bad,” he said.
Reality TV star and actress, Rosemary Afuwape, also sent out her condolences. She said “My heart can’t take this. This is so painfully unbearable. Chioma and Davido, please accept my condolences. No amount of words can comfort your hearts. I am truly sorry for your loss.”
Many other Nigerians and fans around the world have been sending their condolences as Ifeanyi joins the list of celebrities’ sons who died suddenly.
