The Katsina State Deputy Governor, QS Mannir Yakubu,  in compliance with Section 84 (12) of the 2022 Electoral Act as amended, has resigned his appointment as the Commissioner of Agriculture and Natural Resources in the state.

Mannir Yakubu made the declaration on Thursday, 14 April 14, 2022, in his preparations to declare for the 2023 Governorship.

The Deputy Governor thanked the Almighty Allah and Governor Aminu Masari for giving him the opportunity to contribute towards the restoration of agriculture in the Masari administration.    

The Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Musa Kallah, who confirmed the development in a statement, said that Mannir Yakubu had expressed happiness over the repositioning of the state’s agricultural sector, where farmers experienced a turn-around in agricultural production that guaranteed food security and met agro industrial needs of the state and Nigeria at large.

By his resignation, the Deputy Governor has followed due process and complied with Section 84 (12) of Electoral Act (as amended) and APC directive to all appointees with political interest in running for elective office in the 2023 general elections./SHARE THIS
