2020 UTME: CPN commends Oloyede, intimates Education Minister of successful collaboration

The Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) has commended the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, for partnering the Council with a view to improving the sanctity and integrity of its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

CPN gave the commendation in a letter to the  Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, titled “Notification of Collaboration between Joint Admissions and Matriculation B o a r d ( J A M B ) a n d C o m p u t e r Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN)” and signed by the Registrar and Chief Executive of the Council, Mr Allwell Achumba who  doubles as the Secretary to the Council’s Board.

The letter reads: “I write to inform you of our collaboration with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) during the 2020 UTME in respect of the Computer-Based Testing (CBT), Centre CCTV Monitoring and Live Streaming nationwide among other engagements assigned to our professional body.

“Honourable Minister, sir, we wish to also express our profound appreciation to the indefatigable Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, for his support and partnership with CPN, our IT  Professionals and Practitioners in the quest to improve and demonstrate our competencies and local content deliveries.

“CPN’s participation in the 2020 UTME was adjudged to have increased the level of integrity and transparency of the conduct of the examination.”

It would be recalled that CPN was appointed by JAMB in October 2019 to monitor the CCTV cameras installed at the various CBT centres across the country.

JAMBulletin recalled that CPN wholly participated in the Registration of the candidates, the Mock UTME and the actual examination nationwide with the engagement of over 700 IT Professionals and Practitioners nationwide.
