Veteran Nollywood actress, Peju Ogunmola Omobolanle, has lost her only son, Shina. He was aged 26.
The young man was said to have died on September 1, 2025 when his 56-year-old mother was on a movie set.
Since the unfortunate incident, the Nollywood industry has been thrown into mourning.
Shina was the only child between Ogunmola and her husband, Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Papi Luwe.
Shina’s death has plunged the family and the industry into deep grief.
His death came just months after he successfully completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, a milestone that had filled his mother with pride.
The news was first shared by actor, Odunlade Adekola, whose post triggered an outpouring of condolences from colleagues and fans.
Many have since flooded Peju Ogunmola’s social media pages with prayers and tributes, leaving the Nollywood community in mourning.
