Nestle and 19 others sustains equity market uptrend

Activities on the Nigeria equity market yesterday closed on a positive note, sustaining last week’s positive trend to five consecutive trading sessions. As a result, the market breadth closed positive, recording 20 gainers as against 16 losers.
The All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 44.36 points, representing a growth of 0.16% to close at 27,035.78 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size gained N21.41billion, an increase of 0.16% to close at N13.05 trillion.
LAWUNION emerged as the top gainer while OKOMUOIL emerged as top loser.
The uptrend was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, among which were PRESCO (+9.39%), CADBURY (+8.89%), DANGSUGAR (+8.24%), TRANSCORP (+6.86%), NESTLE (+6.12%), WEMABANK (+2.28%), UACN (+2.10%), FIDELITYBANK (+1.50%) GUARANTY (+0.68%) and STANBIC(+0.25%).
