Determined to prop insurance penetration in the country thus giving it an added fillip, the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has given concurrence to funding the construction of a building in the University of Uyo to accommodate the Insurance Department of the University.
This much was revealed by the Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Sunday Thomas, Thursday, when he signed a Memorandum of Understanding with University of Uyo management, in Abuja..
In actualizing this, he said the Commission will apply the proceeds of its Education Fund, with mindset to promoting insurance education and human capital development in Nigeria.
“This is a knowledge-based sector and we realized that as the days go by, vulnerability increases, in which case, we need to develop products that will be able to meet the needs and aspirations of the populace via functionally creative ideas,” he stressed, noting that other tertiary institutions are also in the agenda./SHARE THIS
