
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria on Thursday held a meeting on the proposed Hajj Training Institute.
At the head of the NAHCON team were the outgoing Acting Chairman/CEO, Barrister Muhammad Abdullahi Mukhtar and the incoming Chairman/ CEO, Barrister (Ustaz ) Zikrullah Olakunle Hassan.
They were accompanied by NAHCON’s Director of Administration and Human resources, Dr Ibrahim Sodangi and Ahmad Maigari the Acting Secretary of the Commission.
Vice Chancellor of ABU, Professor Prof. Ibrahim Garba led the team from his University which is a partner with NAHCON in the proposed Hajj Training Institute.
The meeting was held to discuss prospects for the establishment of the Hajj Training Institute in conjunction and partnership with Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Bayero University Kano and the University of Ummul Qura.
Barrister Hassan at his screening by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, had said the takeoff of Hajj Training Institute is top on his agenda as part of the measures towards professionalising Hajj operation.
