Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State has said his performance in the state, in consolidation with the legacies of good governance left behind by his predecessor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, will put an end to the existence of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and other opposition parties in Osun.

The Government said this Saturday while delivering his address during a celebratory banquet organized for him over his July 5th Supreme Court victory, which affirmed his election, and his predecessor, Ogbeni Aregbesola, who is now the Minister of Interior, the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Oyetola said God used Aregbesola to perform wonders in the state, adding “his good works are innumerable”.

According to the Governor, his involvement as a key player in Aregbesola’s eight years of governance being his Chief of Staff gave him a vantage of productive continuity.

“We want to achieve what Lagos State has been able to achieve; unless we deceive ourselves, there’s no other party in Lagos aside APC.

“With a combination of Ogbeni’s and my performance, no other party will come out to contest in future elections in the state.

“We will work so tirelessly on delivery of good governance to the extent that PDP and other parties will be stripped off effrontery to contest”, Oyetola said.

Mr. Oyetola, who however, acknowledged the fact that there’s paucity of funds in the state, optimistically promised his government would do everything humanly possible to source for funds for quality implementation of laudable projects in the state.

Speaking earlier, the new Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, urged the people of the state to support Oyetola the way they supported him while in office as governor of Osun.

Both celebrants expressed their gratitude to all the attendees, who are dignified personages from different walks of life.
