Members of the Zone 4 Victory Estate Community Development Association, Iba in Ojo local Government Area of Lagos State which has been under local load shedding for one year now, better described as being in darkness for one good year, have staged a peaceful protest to ventilate their frustration.
The community members tasked themselves and purchased one-unit 500kva transformer, one-unit 4way feeder pillar and one H pole, which were donated to Eko Electricity Distribution Company, EKEDISC, management since June 2022, but nothing has been done about the installation.
Till date the said community is still in prolonged darkness
The Chairman of the CDA, Mr. Friday John Ani, has been in constant touch with one Mr. Jerry the PRO Ekedisc Ojo district head since June 2022 for prompt installation of this transformer procure by the community, but all efforts have proven abortive despite the fact that some official of EKEDISC from Marina, Lagos came to inspect the transformer.
The community has made representations and appeals to the office of the district head of the company to help them for prompt installation of their newly donated transformer to enable their community to enjoy steady power supply but to no avail.
“On weekly basis we are losing members and tenants packing out of the community due to poor power supply,” one of the CDA leaders said.
