The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned institutions of higher learning against imposing their religious doctrines on students.
Registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede handed down the warning on Tuesday at the 2020 Policy Meeting On Admissions To Tertiary Institutions held via ZOOM.
He said it was wrong for institutions to hold back from applicants, information that they would be required to partake in religious activities, only for them on admission to be compelled to attend mosques or churches and observe other rites, depending on the religious leanings of the institutions.
The Registrar said institutions should always forward all their requirements to the Board so that it can make them known to applicants through advertorials to enable them make informed choices.
