Governor Nasiru El-rufai of Kaduna State, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso, a former Governor of Kano State and General Abdur-Rhaman Dambazzau, the immediate past Minister of Interior were among the dignitaries that bade the deposed Emir of Kano, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi (Muhammadu Sanusi II) farewell at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja (NAIA) on Friday night.

Kwankwanso was Kano State governor when Sanusi ascended the throne in 2014. Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the present governor who deposed Sanusi of Monday was Kwankwanso’s deputy.

Governor El-rufai, longstanding friend of the former Emir was on Friday in Awe, Nasarawa State, where Ganduje exiled Sanusi to until a Federal High Court in Abuja voided the banishment that Friday.

Sanusi’s daughter, Barrister Siddika Lamido Sanusi was part of his legal team led by Lateef Fagbemi SAN.

Both the deposed Emir and his friend observed the Jummat Service at Awe Central Mosque, with Sanusi leading the prayer.

They later left Nasarawa for Abuja in El-rufai’s convoy.

The former Emir departed NAIA for Lagos around 10:30 pm, Friday, aboard a private jet belonging to Quits Aviation Services Limited.

He left Quits Aviation Services Limited terminal in Lagos at 12:17 am, Saturday, in a convoy of over 10 vehicles accompanied by his family members and friends.
