
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has concluded plans to arraign controversial Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, at a Federal High Court in Lagos tomorrow.
Bobrisky was arrested at 3pm at his residence located at Pinnock Estate in Lagos, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 was detained at the EFCC office.
Mr. Dele Oyewale, EFCC spokesperson, confirmed that Bobrisky was arrested for currency mutilation and abuse of the Naira.
His words: “Bobrisky is with us. He was arrested last night in Lagos, and he is at our Lagos command. We arrested him for alleged abuse of naira notes, spraying of naira notes, and currency mutilation, among others.
“We are very serious about restoring the dignity of the naira. Though our investigation is still ongoing, but he will definitely be charged to court soon.”
Mr. Oyewale added that he will be charged to court soon.
Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, born 31 August 1991 and predominantly known as Bobrisky, is a Nigerian transgender woman and LGBT personality.
He is also known for her presence on the social media apps Snapchat, TikTok and Instagram.
He went viral on TikTok for creating the “Bobrisky dance” in 2021.
