The city of Kano has erupted in jubilation following the Appeal Court judgment in favour of Muhammadu Sanusi as the Emir of the ancient city.
The Appeal Court sitting in Abuja on Friday January 10, 2025 ruled in favour of Muhammad Sanusi II in the crucial legal battle over the Emirship stool with Aminu Ado Bayero.

The crisis began when Governor Abba Yusuf in May 2024 dethroned Aminu Ado Bayero and ordered reinstatement of Emir Muhammad Sanusi II.
