Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu has commended the achievements of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) under the leadership of Professor Is-haq Oloyede as Registrar.
He said the achievements of the agency since Oloyede took over have been significant and far-reaching and that he will recommend the JAMB Registrar for a special recognition and presidential handshake.
Malam Adamu spoke on Wednesday in Abuja at a Valedictory press briefing on the stewardship of the ministry in the last four years when he was made Minister.
According to him, “ JAMB ,under the leadership of Prof Oloyede, consistently stands out as the most efficient, prudent and transparent in the education sector.” He added that “Professor Is-Haq Oloyede has demonstrated exemplary conduct over the last four years. This is evident in the fact that JAMB has remitted over twenty billion of its operating surplus to the Federation Account. Interestingly, these remittances were not sourced from unscrupulous exploitation of Nigerians , but rather from the increased transparency , prudence and diligence brought to bear in the management of the resources accruing to the Board.”
The Minister also commended JAMB for the launch of its YouTube channel and noted that the increased traffic to the site. He equally lauded the agency with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) that led to the construction of many state-of –the-art CBT centers across the country.
