The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), on Sunday, warned the Coalition of Christians Groups for Good Governance- Nigeria and Diaspora (COCGOG) to desist from making derogatory remarks against the CAN’s President, Rev. Olasupo Ayokunle.
YOWICAN National Secretary, Hon. Arc. Abel Divine Ogwuche, gave the warning in a statement titled: “CAN President as the Judas Iscariot of out Time: A Propaganda” in Abuja.
“Quite ridiculous and disheartening that the unwanted man in the society still dance to the salient drums of the hypocrites. Daniel Kadzai and his cohorts had failed to realize that “the sea has dried behind their fish and all their evil plans to destroy the hard earned leadership and ecclesiastical image of the CAN President, Rev. Olasupo Ayokunle has been uncovered”.
“The coalition of Christians Groups for Good Governance- Nigeria and Diaspora(COCGOG) under the exiled Daniel Kadzai, and other charade associations, parading themselves as voice for the Christians in different capacities are criminals and wanted individuals within the CAN fold in Nigeria.
“Absurdity and ridiculous so it is said, youths that are expected to be God fearing, vessels of honors and Christ minded, fulfilling the commandments of God that ” honour thy Fathers and thy Mothers that your days may be long…” were found of obnoxious, odious and questionable characters, polluting the minds of Christian community against her Leader in Nigeria.
“As the son of gun would not go unidentified, the meeting claimed to be held at the National Secretariat of CAN by the following groups and with resolutions made by Arewa Christians indigenous Pastors Association(ACIPA) under the leadership of one Rev. Luke Shehu; Coalition Of Christians Groups for Good Governance- Nigeria and Diaspora( COCGOG) led by Daniel Kadzai; Patriotic Christians Youth of Nigeria (PCYN) by Evang. Timothy Nasso; Arise Christians Network led by Pastor Joseph Zephaniah and Christians Youth integrity Group by Godwin Yilpina were all fallacies, unfounded, propaganda, and malicious to dent the integrity of the CAN President,” he said.
Ogwuche said the acclaimed 500 Christians groups are mirage to create deceptions and never in existence.
According to him, CAN is made up of Bloc’s with leadership that can address any issue that relates to the organisation, no individual can rise and assume the powers of addressing the leadership he is not part of directly, all issues if any can only be channel through the leadership of such Bloc.
“We challenge them to provides the list of those 500 Christians Groups with their Corporate Affairs Registration details as proofs coupled with their groups pictures of the said meeting.
“The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) remain the umbrella body of the larger Christians bodies and denominations in Nigeria under the leadership of Rev. Olasupo Ayokunle.
“The visit of the CAN President to the victims of Boko-Haram insurgency in the North East is part of the official itineraries of the CAN President in the year 2019, the provisions of funds and materials donated contained in the 2019 Budget presented, deliberated and approved by CAN NEC in her last meeting
“Meanwhile, the official visit of the CAN leadership to President Buhari, no doubt, a medium to have one on one chat to addressing critical issues affecting the Christian Community in Nigeria mostly in the areas of security challenges, insurgency, ethnic violence, kidnapping, herdsmen’s atrocities prevalent in our Nation and the release of Leah Sharibu amongst others,” he said.
Ogwuche said it was so “pathetic and painful that exiled Daniel Kadzai and his cohorts are all youths from the TEKAN FAMILY, criminals in sheepskin, deportees, and many more to say.”
He said YOWICAN was not part of the coalitions “and the show of shame enmeshed by this set of barbaric and disrespectful youths within our religious system and therefore most respectfully call on the TEKAN CHURCH LEADERS to prevails on their wards from been used as weapons of destructions.
“Conspicuously, Daniel Kadzai and cohorts’ claimed coalitions were sponsored groups by some sycophants against the Church and its leadership.
“Anyone who destroy the Church Of God will ultimately be destroyed. Hence, the leadership of the Youth Wing of CAN in clear language sound this as a serious warning that such attitudes of blemishing the Church and its leadership will never be taken lightly in any case.”
