NURTW solicits Gov Badaru’s assistance on affordable spare parts

The Jigawa state Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers of Nigeria ( NURTW) has pleaded with Governor Badaru Abubakar  to assist in making motor sphere parts cheaper to its members.

The Kazaure branch Secretary of the union, Mal. Zubairu Kazaure who made the plea on behalf of Jigawa NURTW members also urged the governor to redeem  his earlier pledge on releasing the second segment of Hired Purchased Commercial Buses to members under the Jigawa State Empowerment program initiative  aimed to empowering its members for self reliance.

In a congratulatory message written and signed on behalf of members on Governor Badaru’s re-election for second term, Mal Kazaure stated that ” We the members of NURTW rejoice with our governor’s victory.

“Certainly your success was based on your numerous achievements in the last four years notably in areas of Agriculture, Health, Education, and Human Development Empowerment Initiative’s, among other Jigawa state government policies and programs.”

The union express its delight on governor Badaru’s empowerment programme, saying “we are proud to commend our governor in that direction since the first disbursement of over a thousand fleets of Hired purchased commercial buses has helped our teeming members to stand on their foots, and hope the gesture will be a continued exercise.”

The Union further called on members to judiciously utilize the vehicles, as well honor prompt payments  for the sustenance of this valuable assets. The union also urged them to guide against reckless driving, and vandalization of such commercial buses.

On road networks, the union commended Jigawa state government for the provision of solid access roads linking almost all the 27 LGC council’s in the state.

Similarly it called on Governor Badaru to as a matter of urgency to look into the issue of exorbitant cost of motor share parts by making them available at subsidized prices for the benefits of members.
