Within the week, public discussions have been viral that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB may have been suspended from the group on account of having being in detention for too long.
Following this, The State Online went on its way to confirm the veracity of the discussion.
Here is the finding: The Kanu in discussion is Kingsley Kanu, the younger brother of the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, not Nnamdi Kanu himself.
Kingsley Kanu’s suspension was disclosed in a statement signed by the National Coordinator of the group in Germany, named Collins Chinedu.
According to the statement, Kingsley Kanu has indulged in a series of anti-IPOB activities targeted at IPOB and also accused of insubordination, and constituting a parallel leadership in Germany, thereby violating IPOB’s code of conduct.
Stressing that Kingsley Kanu was just an ordinary member of IPOB in Germany, the statement said the accused was using his affiliation with IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, to gain “unmerited super advantage.”
It said Kingsley Kanu was placing himself above all the rules of the group, noting that “the lPOB leadership in Germany unanimously suspends Kingsley indefinitely from the family of IPOB in Germany led by Nnamdi Kanu with effect from the 21st of January 2023.”
IPOB Germany specifically accused Kingsley of “imposing and parading an expelled IPOB member, Ogbonna Abraham, as the new National Coordinator in Germany with the sole intent to cause division within the existing structure in Germany.”
The group said Kingsley must understand that the Biafra struggle is beyond anybody’s affiliation with its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“Mr Kingsley Kanu must, therefore, be reminded that further violations of the code of conduct will have serious legal consequences,” IPOB Germany warned.
With the foregoing explanations, it therefore became apparent that the Kanu suspended was Kingsley Kanu and not Nnamdi Kanu. So, the uninformed should therefore take note of this, and be guided with true position of things./SHARE THIS
