INEC declares Abdulrazaq of APC winner of Kwara gov election

The Kwara State All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has been declared winner of the governorship election held on Saturday.

The state Returning Officer and Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Lafia, Nasarawa State, Prof. Muhammad Liman, declaring the result on Sunday said Abdulrazaq polled 331,546 votes to emerge as the winner of the election.

His Peoples Democratic Party counterpart, Abdulrazaq Atunwa, polled 114,754 votes to emerge as the runner-up in the election.

From the official results declared in all 16 local government areas in the state, Abdulrazaq led Atunwa with a margin of 216,792 votes.

APC beat the PDP in all the local government areas.

Liman added that out of 1,376,372 registered voters in the state, 464,393 were accredited.

Total valid votes were put at 453,433, while rejected votes were 9,994. The number of total votes cast was 463,427.
