Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Adamu, has discountenanced the purported suspension of the Managing Director of the Cross River Basin Development Authority by the agency’s Governing Board, saying it is illegal, null and void.

Stating this in a statement in Abuja, Monday, August 17, Adamu said, in the first place, the Board of the agency does not have the authority to suspend a duly appointed Managing Director of a River Basin Development Authority, stressing, “for the avoidance of doubt, the recent circular on the appointment and disengagement of Heads of Government parastatals from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation is very instructive.
