Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has emerged the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the September 2020 election.
Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state declared Ize-Iyamu winner of the direct primary election with a total of 27,838 votes to defeat Dr. Pius Odubu who scored 3,776 and Osaro Obazee who got 2,751 votes.
The results were announced even as a factional acting national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Victor Giadom had written to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, asking it to disregard the ongoing party primaries in Edo state.
According to Giadom who also wrote to the DSS, the party has not inaugurated any committee for the elections. He advised the electoral body not to offer any form of support to the factional primaries committee under the leadership of Uzodinma.
