Zulum Tasks SSG, Others On Service Delivery, Accountability In Governance Posted by: Mikail Mumuni June 26, 2019 Leave a comment By Inusa Ndahi, Maiduguri Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno state has; tasked the Secretary to State Government (SSG) and Chief of Staff (COS) on service delivery and accountability to the people. Zulum gave the task while swearing in Alhaji Usman Shuwa and Dr. Babagana Wakil as the new SSG and COS, and two Special Advisers at Government House, Maiduguri. He said that their appointments were based on their personal merits and capacity to serve humanity at all levels. “Therefore, all communications to my office and the conduct of government must be routed to the office of SSG for necessary action on direction, interpretation and advices,” he said. He said that all programmes of activities must also be directed to Shuwa, before publicity to ensure proper executional vetting of projects and programmes. According to him; “The SSG and COS will ensure that public servants should be in their places of work as at when due.” He said government will do everything possible to motivate workers for effective service deliveries. He warned that government will not condone absenteeism of either the SSF or COS, including the commissioners yet to appointed. “The most important that we shall look into, is to reduce corruption to the barest level,” he said.
