Tipped Off By Arsene Wenger’s Former Head Of Scouting,Arsenal set sights on signing Serhou Guirassy

Last year,Steve Rowley former head of scouting and recruitment under Arsene Wenger tipped off Arsenal about a certain Marcus Thuram playing for a relegation threatened team who could be bought cheap. The new power at Arsenal dilly dallied,Thuram went to Borrusia Glabach and is today worth £40m. Big regret.

Fast forward, Steve Rowley has again tipped them off about a certain striker playing for a relegated team who could be the best target man in seasons to come.

Not wanting to be caught cold twice, Arsenal have intensified their efforts in signing Amiens forward, Serhou Guirassy, who emerged as one of the most promising strikers in France last season.

Arsenal have set their sights on signing SC Amiens striker Serhou Guirassy this summer, an agent has revealed to Football Insider.

The Gunners are understood to be scouring the transfer market for striking reinforcements as doubts surround the long-term futures of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette
An Arsenal source has told Football Insider that the club watched Guirassy, 24, in action in the last five games before the lockdown, while their former chief scout Steve Rowley has described him as the best target man striker in France.”If properly developed, he’s a £100m target man, dangerous with his back to goal.He appears a late bloomer but he has all ingredients to be good”

Arsenal’s transfer funds will be severely limited in the next window, with the club primarily looking at either free transfers or swap deals.
The Frenchman has been the stand-out performer for the club since arriving from German side Cologne in a £5million deal last summer, scoring nine league goals.

Guirassy’s intermediary Mark McKay has been sounding out potential moves for his client during the sporting lockdown, suggesting Arsenal could face stern competition for the player’s signature.

The agent said: ‘A number of clubs in England and across Europe have shown an interest in Serhou after he performed so well for Amiens.

‘In the current climate due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic clubs might not be able to pay huge transfer fees like they used to and in that respect Serhou could prove to be a bargain in this window.

Guirassy, who has been capped by France at Under-20 level, has also caught the attention of Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Lyon, Nice and Rennes.
Like the Premier League quartet, they are scouring the transfer market for attacking additions on a smaller budget than normal and they see Guirassy as a potential star in the making.

Amiens are resigned to losing Guirassy this summer following their relegation from Ligue 1 after the season was cancelled early due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The forward was valued at £18million in January but he is now available far cheaper as transfer fees prepare to tumble.

Guirassy returned to France permanently last summer from Bundesliga outfit FC Koln in a £5m deal.
The former Lille striker has gone on to net nine times in 23 Ligue 1 matches this season.

This haul included two goals against Paris Saint Germain as well as strikes against other big guns Marseille, Monaco and Lille.
