Updated: Suspected Kidnappers Attack Kaduna-Abuja Train

 

 

Armed men suspected to be kidnappers Thursday morning attacked an Abuja bound train with guns and other projectiles.

The train which left the Rigassa train station at around 10 am was attacked a few kilometres to Katari, about seventy kilometres to Abuja.

A passenger on the train reported that the train came under what he called “ballistic projectiles attack” but no passenger was hurt in the incidence.

Stone Hurled At Kaduna-Abuja Train Mistaken For Gun Shots —- NRC

The management of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) has made a clarification on the alleged gunmen attack on an Abuja bound train from Kaduna on Thursday morning.

The management said what the train suffered was a stone hurled at it by a young boy.

Disclosing this in a tweet was Bashir Ahmad @BashirAhmaad,Personal Assistant on New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to him,”The management said one of the windows of their 10AM train from KD to Abuja was hit by a stone threw by a village boy and such incident is not new, and they already engaged security to collaborate with the heads of the villages along the train track to prevent future occurrences.”

A source close to The State Online while also debunking gunmen attack on the train said “A security detail attached to the NRC has told me that this didn’t happen

“The operative narrated that one of the wheels of the said train picked and discharged a pellet which hit another section of the train at a bend.

“He maintained that there has not been any incident of sort in their operations today.”

A national newspaper had earlier on its online portal reported that:
