Show of love to Baba Buhari at Argungu agric show – By Dr. Umar Jibrilu Gwandu

It is a common knowledge that President Muhammadu Buhari is being loved, respected and venerated by vast majority of Nigerians.

People of Kebbi State admired the President due to a number of reasons including his determination to economically empower Nigerians, diversify the nation’s sources of revenue, ensure food sufficiency and obliterate corruption in the country.

Mr. President was at several times in Kebbi state for projects related to the actualization of the above noble objectives.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Federal Government intervention in Kebbi State like anchor borrowers intiatives, CBN rice farming intervention, soft-loan facilities are among the things that transform hitherto paupers into prosperous and economically stable people.

The “show of love”, by Kebbi people to Mr. President was palpable yesterday at “agric show” when all the creme de la creme Nigerians of Kebbi origin including the Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN gathered in Argungu to demonstrate to Mr. President that they have answered his clarion call of going back to farm.

Mr. President was welcomed with a number of cultural displays of the rich cultural heritage of the people of Kabi kingdom.

An over ambitious and highly-excited Nigerian of Kebbi origin wanted to do his own in a spectacular way; by having an unprecedented presidential hand-shake with the man he admires.

“As the President went round the arena to inspect rice pyramids on display, and take photographs with farmers, a young man was so very excited to see his President so close….. The young man was prevented, and he protested that he should be allowed to greet his President”, Femi Adesina, the spokesperson of the President explained.

The unflinching admiration and unceasing veneration to Mr. President is a testimony to goodwill of Nigerians to Mr. President.

Kebbi is one of the most peaceful state and almost a crime-free and agriculture oriented community.
