MUSWEN organises prayer for NAHCON Chairman…. Supreme Council for Sharia pays visit

The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) will on Saturday in Ibadan organize a special prayer for the new Chairman/CEO of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan.

A statement by the Chairman of MUSWEN Media and Communication Committee, Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Balogun said the prayer session will hold at University of Ibadan Central Mosque on Saturday, March 21 at 11am.

To this effect, all the Chief Imams, Islamic Scholars, Muslim groups and Chairmen of South West Muslim Communities have been invited to grace the occasion.

Also, all the Chairmen of Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards in South West have been invited to grace the special prayers for the new NAHCON Chairman.

The Executive Secretary of MUSWEN, Prof. Muslih Yahya said the prayer session is to seek for Allah’s guidance and favour for the new NAHCON chairman to make the job easier for him and Nigeria Muslims in general.

In another development, the Chairman NAHCON Alhaji Hassan, received in audience, members of the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria ( SCSN), who paid a courtesy visit to him in his office.

Receiving the guests, he reiterated the vision of the fourth board of NAHCON in making the performance of Hajj affordable, reducing the duration of the number of days Nigerian pilgrims spend in Saudi Kingdom during Hajj Operations and also Professionalising the Administration of Hajj .

The Chairman, therefore expressed his willingness to partner with SCSN in any area where the Council could positively impact on the Commission, especially in the area of enhancing Hajj operations in Nigeria.

He added that the Commission and the Council share common vision of helping the common man. He said most of the intending pilgrims are common people who need to be helped.

He opined that when Hajj Savings Scheme eventually materializes, it would tremendously solve most of the problems of Hajj in the country.

Speaking on the purpose of the visit, the leader of the delegation, Sheikh Rasheed Hadyatullah, told the Chairman that they were in Hajj House to associate with his commitment and zeal to work for the common man by making Hajj affordable.

The leader of the delegation who disclosed that his long acquaintance with the Chairman for his forthrightness and honesty, expressed the hope that NAHCON under him would certainly succeed in realizing of its dreams.

He therefore advised the Commission to formulate good and laudable policies that could translate into far reaching positive effects.
