The foundation in it’s Eid-el Fitri message jointly signed by Engr. Abu Salami, National Coordinator and Prof. Suleiman Salami, National Secretary equally admonished Muslims to “consolidate on the gains of Ramadan which epitomizes sacrifice, perseverance, compassion and ultimate fear of Allah.” It changed governments “at all levels to show compassion on the citizens, provide security for the lives and properties of the citizenry, design strategies to ensure continued unity of Nigeria and, on the whole, focus on economic emancipation of Nigerians.” Read full text of the message below: ISLAMIC WELFARE FOUNDATION EID’L FITRI MESSAGE We thank Almighty Allah for giving us the opportunity to witness this year’s Eid’l Fitri the end of Ramadan. We join all Muslim faithfuls in celebrating this uncommon favour from Allah. As we rejoice it is imperative to appreciate that it is only the Rahma of Allah that has sustained us thus far. To that end, we must consolidate on the gains of Ramadan which epitomizes sacrifice, perseverance, compassion and ultimate fear of Allah. Having sacrificed only for Allah, we should continue to eschew any form of activities that will diminish from this and ensure that our country remains peaceful and united. As a follow up to this we wish to charge governments at all levels to show compassion on the citizens, provide security for the lives and properties of the citizenry, design strategies to ensure continued unity of Nigeria and, on the whole, focus on economic emancipation of Nigerians. As incumbent on all our leaders, they must realise that they are accountable to Almighty Allah and therefore ensure that no Nigerian irrespective of his/her ethnic and religious calling is left unprotected, uncatered for or neglected in all its ramifications. It is our hope that the Federal Government of Nigeria will tackle headlong the current security challenges of kidnapping, herdsmen/farmers clash, terrorism and other forms of criminal activities. We pray Allah to continue to guide our leaders and direct them a right while we admonish the citizens to continue to support the leaders in prayer so that they can succeed. Engr.
