Outgoing Acting Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad has proposed refunds to tour operators should henceforth be made directly to their accounts and not to the Hajj Commission’s account any longer.
He made the request in Jeddah on Sunday during a meeting at the Saudi Arabian United Agents Office.
The State Online gathered that the United Agency Office will have to liaise with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah as well as the e-track office before implementation.
At the meeting, Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad appreciated the services of the Agents during the 2019 Hajj, while Mr. Tareq S. Ghurab, the Deputy Chairman of the Agents hailed the Commission for their cooperation and urged NAHCON to continue on that course.
Apart from the refunds to the tour operators, the NAHCON Ag. Chairman also wants less hours spent by Nigerian Pilgrims at Madinah airport.
Other requests he made included: services of bilingual translators to facilitate Pilgrims communication while in the Kingdom; employment of some Nigerian residents as local staff.
Mr Ghurab promised look into the requests for implementation.
