Gov Fayemi meets widow left with just N100, offers her temporary job, cash gift Posted by: Mikail Mumuni July 4, 2019 Leave a comment By Sola Salako Ajulo Today (Thursday), Governor Kayode Fayemi met with Mama Leah Ogundipe, a widow, in his office. A bewildered Mama Ogundipe with Gov. Fayemi* Mama Ogundipe spoke from the street on “Meet Your Governor”, the monthly Programme where the Governor gets to communicate his policies to the state and receives feedback from the people. Well, last Monday, Mama was approached by our Electronic Media team (led by Kanmi Olatoye) on the streets of Igede town to speak to Mr Governor. In the vox pop ,she said she was on her way to the market and had just N100 left with her that very day as 3 of her children (one in Ekiti) were jobless. She then appealed to the Governor to quickly re-introduce “owo arugbo”, a social security scheme for the elderly introduced by Dr Fayemi in his first term. Mr Governor, who was touched by mama’s honest appeal, sent for her. Today, mama Olufunmike Adebulugbe Ogundipe was brought from Ilogbo street ,Igede Ekiti and met with the Governor in his office. Mama was brought in company of one of her children, Funmilayo Ogundipe, the only one in Ekiti State. Mama Ogundipe praying for Gov Fayemi. With them is Funmilayo, Mama’s daughter* Mama Olufunmike Adebulugbe Ogundipe lost her husband in 1994 and lost one of her children who was the bread winner of the family in 2010 since then life had been unbearable for her. The Governor directed the DG Enterprise & Microfinance, Hon. Kayode Fasae to immediately give Funmilayo a temporary job while DG Employment ,Labour and Productivity, Hon. Lanre Ogunjobi has been directed to capture her for permanent job when recruitment begins. Not only that , apart from the cash gift she got from the Governor today, mama Ogundipe has been penciled down as an automatic recipient in the social security scheme for the elderly ‘owo arugbo’ commencing in October. Mama, who came with her daughter, Miss Funmilayo Ogundipe prayed for Governor Fayemi and Ekiti State. It was an emotional scene. Looking out for our elderly is central to restoring our values in Ekiti State. #JKFCares #NoSeniorCitizenShouldGoHungry Governor Kayode Fayemi 2019-07-04 Mikail Mumuni Share !
