DG of NACA not sacked, he resigned voluntarily to take up UN job- Presidency Posted by: Mikail Mumuni July 3, 2019 Leave a comment The Presidency has described as false, reports that Dr Sani Aliyu was sacked as Director of the National Agency for the Control of Aids (NACA) over some alleged infractions. Giving Aliyu a clean bill of health, The Presidency described him as a “distinguished Nigerian,” pointing out that he voluntarily resigned from NACA “in order to give full attention to his pursuit of an important UN job.” The clarification was given by Mallam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media &Publicity. Garba Shehu in a statement on his verified Facebook page stated that: “Dr. Sani Aliyu the erstwhile Director-General of the National Agency for the Control of Aids resigned voluntarily and this was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari. “This distinguished Nigerian resigned in order to give full attention to his pursuit of an important UN job. “In this regard, false reporting to the effect that he was sacked for one reason or the other is unhelpful to his legitimate aspiration. He left on his own.” Dr Sani Aliyu Garba Shehu NACA 2019-07-03 Mikail Mumuni Share !
